
Mahlodi Petunia Montlha, MSc-Med (Wits)
Research Technologist
Mahlodi Petunia Montlha joined CHIL in February 2019 as a Research Technologist. She obtained her Master of Science in Medicine (Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2018. Mahlodi currently performs multiparameter flow cytometry assays to evaluate immune responses on ad hoc projects.
Mahlodi previously worked as a Medical Scientist at Vaccines & Infectious Diseases Analytics (VIDA) Research Unit, where she evaluated immune response with ELISA and Luminex based assay. She gained experience in and trained new staff on the isolation and cryopreservation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Additionally, Mahlodi is experienced in performing Real Time PCR to detect respiratory pathogens. She is very passionate about research aimed at advancing biomarker discovery, vaccine design and therapeutic interventions.
