Saleha Omarjee, MSc (Immunology)
Research Technologist II
Saleha completed a Master in Medical Science (Immunology) degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Her master’s project focused on the development of a laboratory-based assay to help regulate the immunosuppressant regimen of kidney transplant recipients. Saleha also worked as a research assistant at the HIV Pathogenesis Programme (HPP) of UKZN from 2009 to 2014, where she was part of several basic science research projects aimed at identifying immune responses effective in controlling HIV-1 infection. Saleha joined CHIL after having been most recently employed at the AERAS South Africa Endpoint Assay Laboratory (SEAL).
