Shamiska joined CHIL in September 2015. She obtained her BSc Hons in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2008 from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and then worked at Synexa Life Sciences from 2009 to 2015. At Synexa, she initially worked in the specialised diagnostic laboratory where she received samples and processed PBMC from blood and tissues, and performed ELISAs and flow cytometry assays. More recently, she worked in the Synexa biomarker research laboratories in South Africa and in the UK, gaining experience in method development, data completion for statistical analysis and management and training of staff.
